….until we bring Zak home. I am very excited and nervous but feel like we are now ready – the house is as puppy proofed as it’s possible for it to be, I have bought all the supplies I can buy in advance and my eyes have gone square from all the reading and research I have been doing.

I want to be a good and responsible dog owner – my Aunt has just given up her 10 month old puppy because she lost interest in it and this reminded me just how much I don’t want to be one of those people.

They learn so much in the first few months that it’s so important to get it right and set boundaries right away. Toilet training, basic commands, walking on a leash – all things we can start on right away and then after a trip to the vets for his second set of vaccinations we’ll be doing a lot to socialise him with other dogs, cats and humans.

Very very excited now.

On my hands and knees

On October 15, 2011, in Puppy, by

I have just taken the advice of one of the many booklets I have read in preparation for Zak coming home ans crawled around the house on my hands and knees – so I can see how the world looks to a puppy.

I hope no one saw me and I hope that the pain in my poor old knees goes away soon!

There’s still a lot to be done to puppy proof the house that’s for sure – items on shelves, wires on floors, cupboards and drawers to get his sticky little paws in to. I thought we were practically ready but my little crawling session proved otherwise :)

Name chosen

On October 13, 2011, in Puppy, by

We have finally chosen a name for our wee man – he’s going to be called Zak!

I had my heart set on Xander at first as it is the name I have always had in my head for if I got a puppy, but my fiance hates the name and he has a cousin with the same name, so it didn’t seem right to call him that.

Because my heart was so set on the name Xander I struggled to come up with something else that I liked and it was starting to stress me out. We toyed with the name Mack for a few days and we both quite liked it, but then Zak came to me and we were both instantly sold.

Zak – a name I will hopefully be saying daily for the next 12 – 15 years :)

Unlimited plans from NET10

On October 7, 2011, in Internet, by

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Net10 for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Do you remember your first cell phone contract? I can’t remember the exact details of mine but I remember feeling like I was being ripped off every time it came to paying my bill – it was a lot of money for very little in return.

Thankfully things have come a long way since then and thanks to brilliant companies like NET10 you can get unlimited packages for as little as $50/mo. Best of all there are no lengthy contracts, it just runs on a month by month basis. This is absolutely ideal for me personally as I hate being tied in to a contract and think of the possibilities of this plan for businesses. You can check out NET10 on Twitter @NET10_Wireless or on Facebook here https://www.facebook.com/NET10Wireless

Also why not take a peek at this Cute NET10 commercial for more information :)
