How can Nopalea benefit you?

On January 16, 2012, in Health, by

It is important for me to eat whole foods a plant based diet does wonders for the human body, significantly reducing the risk of myriad diseases, promoting optimal internal system health, helping to maintain a healthy body weight and much more.

I also discourage pharmaceuticals when and wherever possible, as there are many plant based alternatives that can be very effective in countering certain health problems.

Having said that I find the Nopalea wellness drink I have been hearing a lot about recently quite interesting.

I had not previously heard of the Nopal cactus, nor the name Opuntia Ficus Indica, but when I looked up more information on the plant, my suspicions were confirmed: this is the cactus also known as the Prickly Pear, which is native to my home region, the Sonoran desert.

With the help of Nopal cactus extracts, Nopalea is packed with rare and potent antioxidants that are scientifically proven to help the body reduce inflammation.

TriVita claims that when you take Nopalea daily, it can help your body:
Reduce inflammation
Cleanse itself of daily toxins
Promote optimal health

Seeing as though the anti-oxidants contained in this drink have been proven to help with inflammation (the leading cause of pain), I can see this product being a very helpful plant-based solution that could help many people. In addition, I personally LOVE the taste of the prickly pear cactus fruit, so it’s very likely that I would enjoy the taste of this wellness drink. I’m certainly looking forward to trying out Nopalea for myself in the near future.

Over 3 million bottles of the Nopalea anti-inflammatory wellness drink have been sold. To learn more, check out the Nopalea Facebook page or try it for free (only pay $9.95 for shipping) by calling 1-800-203-7063.

He’s coming jogging with me!

On February 28, 2011, in Fitness, Health, Personal, Sports, Weight Loss, by

I am so happy, the Husband has decided he’s going to start coming jogging with me — and I think he actually means it this time because earlier he was on a site looking at their Nike SB shoes range.

t have any decent footwear as his excuse not to come with me. Well actually that’s one of many excuses he has!

I don’t know if he actually ordered any or not, I don’t think so — but it is very promising that he was even looking.

Yay for me having a jogging buddy, and not just any jogging buddy — my gorgeous husband :)

Weight Loss Journey

On January 29, 2011, in Fitness, Health, Sports, Weight Loss, by

This time three years ago I weighed more than I ever have before in my adult life, I was a whopping 15 stone and 10 pounds, that’s 210 pounds — and I am only 5 foot tall — I was biiiiig.

I am currently weighing in at 9 stone 3 pounds and am well on my way to getting to my goal weight.

I have lost the weight the slow and sensible way. I work out 5 days a week and consume around 1400 calories a day. It can be really frustrating losing it this way, because I can go literally months without losing any thing — but I also think it’s the most sensible way to do it because it’s a sustainable life style change. I have no fears that I will suddenly come off the ‘diet’ and pile all the weight back on.

I give myself mini goals as they help keep me motivated, my next mini goal is 9.2 pounds — this will put me in the same stone as I was 5 years ago when the husband and I got together and it will mean I am no longer in the Obese BMI category.

I am unsure of my main goal weight — according to statistics my ideal weight is around 7 stone 7 pounds but that seems insane to me, I think I will be happy at about 9 stone 9 pounds but I guess I just have to get there and wait and see how I feel.

Owchies!!

On January 9, 2011, in Fitness, Health, Sports, Weight Loss, by

Yeah, that new work out DVD I got certainly gives you a work out — I am embarrassed to admit I didn’t even finish it because it totally killed me, but as it was my first time I think that’s OK, I am sure I will get better at it as time goes on and I use it more.

It was hard going…as in..there’s a lot of actual dance moves in it that you have to learn and my coordination and balance are not my best abilities!

I hurt today though, every muscle aches and as bothersome as that is…I know it means I was working muscles I don’t usually work so it’s all good :)
