I think it’s time for me to get a new phone, my ancient LG just isn’t up to date enough any more.

I am not really one to follow trends and always want the latest and hottest gadgets – but in this day and age having a phone that can’t even access the Internet or have apps on it just doesn’t cut it, does it?

As they say, mom knows best and even my mom has been telling me for ages I need a new cell phone and I need to get off of my current contract that costs me an arm and a leg and I never even come close to getting what I pay for as I don’t even touch my data allowance and barely even make a dint on my minutes allowance.

Why pay for things I don’t use and be tied into an expensive contract that I hate?

I was looking at Straight Talk recently, a non contract cell company that a few of my friends already use as they like the simplicity of the monthly plans as well as the price – they say it saves them a small fortune and they can then spend that money on other things like going out and having fun :)

They have everything you need on the “All you need plan”  with 1,000 minutes, 1,000 texts and 30 MB of web data each month and at just $45! I personally won’t be needing such a large plan as I am not such a heavy cell user, but that’s OK because they have other plans available as well. I will have to call a friend who is already with Straight Talk later today and see what they recommend. I have watched some testimonials online from real Straight Talk customers that you can take a peek at yourself below but it’s always nice to hear what people you really know think as well.
